Dinosaurs: The Giants of the Ancient World
Dinosaurs were a group of reptiles that lived millions of years ago during a time known as the Mesozoic Era, which is divided into three periods: the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. They first appeared around 230 million years ago and dominated life on Earth until their extinction about 66 million years ago.
Dinosaurs came in many shapes and sizes. Some were small and fast, like Velociraptor, while others were enormous, like Brachiosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. They could be herbivores (plant-eaters), carnivores (meat-eaters), or omnivores (eating both plants and animals). Many dinosaurs walked on two legs, while others moved on four.
The world of dinosaurs was full of life and diversity. Some dinosaurs had feathers, some had armor, and others had long necks or sharp claws. They adapted to their environments in different ways, helping them survive for millions of years.
