They first appeared around 230 million years ago and dominated life on Earth until their extinction about 66 million years ago.

Dinosaurs came in many shapes and sizes. Some were small and fast, like Velociraptor, while others were enormous, like Brachiosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. They could be herbivores (plant-eaters), carnivores (meat-eaters), or omnivores (eating both plants and animals). Many dinosaurs walked on two legs, while others moved on four.
