THE BRONTOSAURUS

Image
THE BRONTOSAURUS Brontosaurus was a herbivore . It didn’t chew its food much—instead, it swallowed plants and probably used stones in its stomach (called gastroliths) to help grind them up. Brontosaurus was a sauropod , meaning it had: A very long neck and tail A small head compared to its body Thick, pillar-like legs A huge, heavy body The naming confusion: This is where things get interesting: In the late 1800s, a scientist named Othniel Charles Marsh named a dinosaur Brontosaurus (“thunder lizard”). Later, scientists decided the fossils actually belonged to another dinosaur called Apatosaurus . So “Brontosaurus” was dropped for a long time.

THE T-REX

Image
THE T-REX Enormous skull and bite force: T. rex had one of the strongest bite forces of any land animal ever—strong enough to crush bone. Its teeth were thick and serrated, more like spikes than knives. Powerful legs: Built for movement, T. rex could walk efficiently and possibly run at moderate speeds (though not as fast as early movies suggested). Tiny arms (but not useless): Its arms were short, but surprisingly strong. Each had two claws and may have helped grip prey or assist in getting up.

THE THING BENEATH THE BONES

The Thing Beneath the Bones You step into the water to hide. Big mistake. The surface is still… quiet… safe. Then it ripples. Not from you. From something underneath . Spinosaurus doesn’t chase like other predators. It waits. Submerged. Silent. Watching. You won’t see its teeth first—you’ll feel them. A sudden pull. A violent drag beneath the surface. No scream. Just bubbles. Because where it lives… The water doesn’t save you. It swallows you.

Dinosaurs: The Giants of the Ancient World

Image
Dinosaurs: The Giants of the Ancient World Dinosaurs were a group of reptiles that lived millions of years ago during a time known as the Mesozoic Era, which is divided into three periods: the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. They first appeared around 230 million years ago and dominated life on Earth until their extinction about 66 million years ago. Dinosaurs came in many shapes and sizes. Some were small and fast, like  Velociraptor , while others were enormous, like  Brachiosaurus  and  Tyrannosaurus rex . They could be herbivores (plant-eaters), carnivores (meat-eaters), or omnivores (eating both plants and animals). Many dinosaurs walked on two legs, while others moved on four. The world of dinosaurs was full of life and diversity. Some dinosaurs had feathers, some had armor, and others had long necks or sharp claws. They adapted to their environments in different ways, helping them survive for millions of years.
